How to calm a dog with Doggy Calm Essential Oil Spray 

Doggy Calm Spray is best applied to your dog’s neck/collar area as you would a flea and tick treatment. Separate the fur of your dog so the spray can be applied as close to the skin as possible, avoiding their face, eyes, and mouth. Before application shake the bottle vigorously for at least 10 seconds prior to use to combine the oils with the water.

Spray as far down your dog’s neck as possible so they can’t turn their head and lick it off – it will taste yucky!

As with Essential Oils for humans – Its most effective if it can be absorbed into their bloodstream.

I recommend introducing our Calm Doggy Spray slowly to your dog and do a test spot much as you would yourself. Slowly increase the number of sprays until you find that your fur baby’s nerves are eased and they’re more relaxed. Our suggested number of sprays is between 5-10, so find what works for your dog best.

Apply 1hour prior to storm, fireworks, or potential moments of anxiety to achieve the best results, then re-apply after 30 minutes. If required the spray can be applied again 3-4hrs after initial application.

 

Please note Bella Oils recommends that the Clam Doggy Spray is only sprayed as required. Even though we use 100% natural essential oils in our products they can still be very volatile natural compounds, and we should never overuse them.

If your anxious dog who doesn’t like being sprayed, try:

  • Spraying the oil into your hands and rubbing it on the dog’s upper spine
  • If your dog has a doggy bandana apply the spray to that
  • Apply to your dog’s bed or bedding
  • For dogs that experience anxiety travelling in the car, try spraying your car seats so the dog can inhale the benefits during the car ride.

I must say I am honestly amazed how well this actually works and does the job. For the people out there that own a Gsd you would know how there are big sooks and stress heads, Jerry Lee is the biggest mummy’s boy and stresses out like crazy when I’m not with him or to attached to me when we’re out on our adventures and especially in the car he whines, cry’s and barks like crazy such a bad distraction when driving but after using this product his so nice and calm and can tell that his in a better mind set.     I was not only excited to photograph your product but actually use it.
    When I leave the house I feel our dogs get very anxious and because of that they chew everything and always make a mess everywhere. Since using the spray before we go out we return home to no mess. I tested this and didn’t use it when I went out once and I had a massive mess to clean up. It’s so refreshing to know that our dogs feel calmer more often then not!

    I purchased Calm Doggy Spray as my little dog is absolutely terrified of thunder storms. Previously she would run around in a blind panic and nothing calmed her.     I used this for my dog when she was at the end of her pregnancy and going through labour. She’s a highly anxious dog normally so a new experience like this was going to make her more anxious so I thought I’d give it a go!     I actually cannot believe the difference this spray has made to my little Sausage Doggy friends. We have two mini-doxies at home, both get quite anxious at different times – typical of their breed. Our Snag’s really dislike being left at home on their own and can often start howling and get extremely frazzled when they know their Hoomans are leaving. I use the spray about 20 minutes before we head out, and it’s like magic! When we get home, the Snags are of course excited to see us, but they are SO much more zen then what they normally would be. It’s also very handy to use before our walkies – Mr Abe tends to think he is a Doberman and barks at very big dogs, so this helps to ease the ‘tiny man’ syndrome hehe. Highly recommend this product to any doggy owners!!
